This is a tradition that I don’t see often in the States, which is using either pink or blue ribbons to indicate that a baby has been born. As you can see, in Italy this tradizione is still going strong.
One day, while I was strolling the oldest neighborhood in Trieste, I stumbled upon this statue of San Francesco d’Assisi, one of the Saints Italians love the most. As a matter of fact, according to a survey, San Pio and Sant’Antonio have the biggest presence in the lives of Italians.
